People in a Landscape - Discussion With George Gunn - Wick

Discovery College is delighted to once again be working with Creativity in Care who are in partnership with acclaimed Caithness poet and playwright George Gunn. Come along to hear more about this project and contribute your own ideas and sign up to be part of something really exciting

Using language (poetry/dialogue), movement, music and objects (both made and found) the proposal is to create a piece of theatre that will challenge and stimulate the participants and performers (not everyone who participates may wish to perform). This Performance will also illuminate and entertain a contemporary audience to experience a unique view of Caithness, her people and their place in the Highlands.

The valuable resource of Caithness is the imagination and creativity of her people and the community spirit. The artwork developed through the Creativity in Care workshops will embrace and explore such issues as the care and maintenance of the environment, the wildlife, the fragility of the cliffs, the flagstone beds, the bogs, lochs and fields of Caithness and how they relate to the human population in terms of housing, social isolation, mental health, poverty and economic justice.
