The theme for Mental Health Awareness Week is Community and the power of peer support to create connection, hope and belonging for people living with poor mental wellbeing, mental illness, substance misuse and addiction is fundamental to the community we are building.
We know through the work that we are doing that understanding the role of shared experiences can transform mental illness recovery. Peer support is rooted in mutual understanding and allows individuals to connect through lived experiences. This approach fosters empathy and resilience, creating a safe space for exploring our own personal recovery .
John Beaton, (SPIRIT Advocacy), Sarah Galloway and Jamie Bird chat about their experiences and passion for Peer Support. These three amazing and very different Peer Practitioners will lead a conversation which you can take part in to share your own experiences or find out how Peer support can help you live well.
